Washington State Ferries travel between downtown Port Townsend to Keystone (7 miles from Coupeville) on Whidbey Island and back each day. Number of trips vary. Two-boat service on the route typically runs mid-May through early October.

The Port Townsend/Keystone (Coupeville) vehicle ferry route requires reservations - highly recommend you get them early as they regularly sell out each weekend, especially on holidays. On the Port Townsend/Keystone (Coupeville) route, all reservation space (80% of the vessel) is released 2 months prior to the season start date.

Travel to the San Juan Islands on Puget Sound Express - The official passenger ferry route from Port Townsend to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. From Friday Harbor you can connect on WA State Ferries to other islands.
Port Townsend to Coupeville (Keystone) Ferry - Departs from downtown Port Townsend.
Seattle to Bainbridge Ferry - Terminal 1.25 hours south of Port Townsend.
Kingston to Edmonds Ferry - Terminal 45 min. east of Port Townsend.
To get from Victoria, B.C. to Port Angeles to Port Townsend using the public bus and Blackball Coho ferry you'll have to use a combination of the following:
1. Clallam County Transit Route #30 from the Port Angeles Transfer Station (about a block from the ferry) to Sequim Transit Center at 2nd & Cedar. (Travel time: about 35 minutes). Phone: (360) 452-4511 or (800) 858-3747.
2. Then use Jefferson Transit Route #8 from 2nd & Cedar in Sequim to the Port Townsend Park & Ride. (Travel time: about 45 minutes). Phone: (360) 385-4777 or Toll Free: (800) 371-0497.
3. From there you can get a the Jefferson Transit #11 bus to uptown/downtown or the #2 bus to Fort Worden. Phone: (360) 385-4777 or Toll Free: (800) 371-0497.
Black Ball Transport - Coho Ferry to Victoria, B.C. - automobile & passenger ferry from Port Angeles (50 miles west of PT). Crossing time: 1.5 hrs. 360-457-4491.
