Olympic Peninsula Mindfulness invites you to experience Forest Bathing ("Shinrin Yoku"), a delightful form of contemplative walking in a wooded area, gently connecting us to the natural world through actively engaging our senses. Sound, sight, smell, taste and touch can heighten our awareness of the intricacy of the life all around us. Intentionally paying attention-while walking slowly, and pausing often- can help us notice so much more than walking to 'get somewhere'.
Explore the paths of Fort Worden State Park with your guide, who will share a poem or two, and a brief guided meditation along the way.
Spring into nature comfortably- wear sturdy shoes, layer clothing, and leave the electronics and pets behind, to make it easier to immerse yourself in some quiet moments as we walk together, rain or shine!
As usual, we meet up about 15 minutes before the scheduled time, in front of the Fort Worden Commons building. Please leave your cell phones and furry companions behind.
Suggested Donation $10 will be donated to the Friends of Fort Worden in thanks for their fabulous volunteer trail maintenance.
