A Memoir Writing Workshop

Objective: This 6-week long, 12-hour intensive workshop, is designed to introduce writers to literary techniques used by fiction writers, poets and essayists alike, to compose work that is compelling, thoughtful, inspired and inspiring. In these workshops, you will use these same techniques to explore a truth, and in doing so, you will embark on the beginnings of a creative non-fiction piece—be it a memoir or an essay.

Led by award-winning writer, Jennifer Andrews, participants will read a works by Pulitzer Prize winning writers, participate in weekly editing sessions, writing exercises, and have a final one-on-one meeting (week 6) to prepare your piece for publication, or as a performance piece.

Meeting Schedule: Participants will meet once a week for two hours on Monday evenings from 6-8PM. Classes will be held at Aldrich’s in Port Townsend and will run from July 1st through the 29th.

The sixth and final class, will be a one-on-one session scheduled at your convenience to discuss edits, publication and/or performance opportunities.

Fees/Registration: The tuition for this workshop series is $250. In addition, you will be asked to purchase the book, On Writing Well, and a reading packet, totaling no more than $30. Please contact Jennifer Andrews @ to register.
