Northwind Arts Center welcomes The Ginnie Porter Trio, Tuesday August 13 at 2:00pm, in a free concert at Life Care Center of Port Townsend. The Arts to Elders concert series is an outreach service of Northwind Arts Center in cooperation with Port Townsend’s senior care centers. The series is funded by The Rotary Club of Port Townsend and an anonymous donor.
Jazz singer Ginnie Porter offers sultry interpretations of classic jazz and blues. Influenced in early life by her mother’s constant singing of jazz standards around the house, Ginnie has come full circle from early folk back to jazz. Modern influences are singers Diana Krall, Eliane Elias, Mose Allison and Rachael Price, to name just a few.
Currently living near Port Townsend, Ginnie has been performing in the area for several years. As part of “The Rhythm Section” with George Radebaugh and Ted Enderle, she lead the Jazz and Blues Singers jam at El Guadalajara Restaurant in Port Towsend. She regularly performs at jams at Casa Mexico in Keyport, and The Cellar Door in Port Townsend. She is accompanied by pianist George Radebaugh and bassist Ted Enderle.
