A special community event, "Celebrate the Duckabush," will be held at Finn River Cidery's Tasting Room on Friday, January 24th, 4 to 7 pm to focus on the Duckabush River, south of Brinnon. The event will be an open house with table displays on the river valley's elk, fish and geology staffed by agency and non-profit representatives. Discover more about the habits of the Roosevelt elk that roam through the valley, salmon restoration efforts and unique Pleistocene geology of the area. Information on kayaking the Hood Canal and Duckabush mushrooms will also be available.
Through a grant from the Northwest Fund for the Environment, free Finn River appetizers and free tokens for draft cider will be available for the first 30 people to attend. The Cidery's famous local food evening meals will also be available for purchase.
