In a springtime celebratory mood I thought it would be fun to haul out the “One and Only” Levitina. A crossbreed of a concertina, bandoneon, and button accordion, it was invented as a gift for me by the French accordion builder Emanuelle Pariselle in 2002. It’s distinctly Parisian voice inspired me to learn a bunch of French waltzes and musettes at that time.
For this show, I’ve dusted off compositions by Frederick Paris, Marc Perrone, Daniel Thonon, and Phillipe Bruneau, as well as lots of other great tunes including my own. I ‘ll bring along my nylon string banjo as well for a bit of the Piedmont Swing.
