Kaleidoscope Play & Learn groups are for children ages birth to 5 and their families or caregivers. Come listen to stories, enjoy snacks, participate in circle time, and enhance the bond with your family and the community. Sessions are free and open to everyone.
Kaleidoscope Play & Learn (KP&L), which began in Seattle, is evidence-based and founded on the understanding that children learn while they play, and entire communities benefit when we support Protective Factors for families:
KP&L strengthens families and benefits child development by utilizing all five Protective Factors:
Parental and caregiver resilience
Healthy social networks
Knowledge of parenting and child development
Concrete support in times of need
Social and emotional development of young children
These playgroups support the development and mental health of both the children and the grown-ups who attend, and aid in Kindergarten-readiness. Plus, they're a lot of fun!

Funding is provided by a partnership between First Step Family Support Center and the Olympic-Kitsap Peninsula Early Learning Coalition, and through a grant from the Satterberg Foundation.
Our grant runs out in Fall 2019, so we are currently seeking new funding to keep the playgroups going. To contribute, visit First Step's Donate page at https://
