Over 50 years Tony Petrillo, vocalist, guitarist and band leader, has wandered from the solo singer-songwriter format, through rock 'n roll, Cajun and swamp pop and into swing, jazz, blues, and everything in between. He has been playing around Port Townsend for about 15 years. His voice has been compared to the big baritone voices of the 50's.
Guitarist Jim Oliver has been a regular in the local jazz scene for the past 15 years, playing with the top musicians and vocalists in the area. He specializes in a finger-style, chord melody style on both nylon string and jazz style guitars.
Kurt has taught woodwinds, jazz improvisation, and general music both privately and at the community college level for over 50 years. After 37 years on the bandstand in Los Angeles, he now maintains a woodwind presence in the Kitsap/Jefferson county jazz scene. He has never played with anyone anybody ever heard of, except for Tony Petrillo and Jim Oliver ;).
Tony and Jim have been performing in everything from duets to octets for 13 years. Tony and Kurt met 5 years ago and tearing it up on the bandstand ever since. The three of them have been playing in trios and quintets since Kurt moved to the neighborhood.
