Please join March 22-24, 2019 in Port Townsend, WA for another delightful edition of the Victorian Heritage Festival

The Victorian Festival returns with new events, old favorites, and even more opportunities to experience a way of life that was. Join us among the beautiful Victorian architecture of Port Townsend as history lives again.

Events

FRIDAY EVENING

Reception at the Cotton Building 7pm-9pm

Dust off your bowler hat or come as you are to meet old friends and make new acquaintances. Our stately waterfront venue will feature a staffed bar for those 21+. Let the good times roll!

SATURDAY

Art Exhibition at the Hastings Building 10:00am

(Merchant’s Square will remain open until 5pm)

Noted artists Erika Heins and Chris Mendez unveil their new collections of paintings inspired by the classics of Victorian literature, all inside Port Townsend’s single most iconic Victorian landmark. A broad selection of Victorian items will be displayed for your viewing pleasure, courtesy of our local artists and artisans.

Garden Party at the Legion 11:30am

This traditional social event will feature authentic historical entertainments and pastimes. Wear your Victorian morning attire or come as you are and enjoy a mingle in the age of Victoria. In the event of inclement weather, the Garden Party will become a Conservatory Party.

High Tea at the Commander’s Beach House 12:30pm

For those who have booked advance reservations, this seaside gem awaits with a tempting array of teas and confections.

Tour Departs from the Hastings Building

Some of Port Townsend’s finest old Victorian structures await your inspection on this guided tour. Includes interior visits. The roster of included buildings is being finalized. Please check back here shortly to see the schedule of sites.

High Tea at the Commander’s Beach House 2:30pm

For those who have booked advance reservations, this seaside gem awaits with a tempting array of teas and confections.

Fashion Show: “Victorians in High Society” 4:30pm

Be sure to see this one hour presentation of fine Victorian clothing from collections around the nation. Seating opens at 4:00.

The Grand Victorian Ball: 7:00pm

The Social Event of the Season!

Enjoy refreshments and the spectacle of Victorians dancing the night away. Called dances make it easy for all to participate; our live band will also play uncalled dances for those who wish to dance as couples.

SUNDAY

Merchant’s Square 10:00am-5:00pm

Featuring items that can be found exclusively at the festival, Merchant’s Square is located in the historic Hastings Building at 839 Water Street. Whether you’re looking for a unique piece of Victorian-inspired jewelry, handmade items for the home or a modern jacket with a touch of historical flair to wear to the office on Monday, you’ll find it here.
