Class Description:

This is a yoga course, which will include some short talks on yoga, interoception, and the vagus nerve. The focus is on yoga and its ability to facilitate resilience of the nervous system for reducing stress and slowing down. It will be for all levels.

This class will include asanas (physical postures), pranayama, (or looking at your relationship with your breath), some meditation practices, and relaxation. These practices will offer a way of listening to your body, which is guided by discriminative awareness. When you approach your yoga practice with awareness, curiosity, and openness, you can leverage the power of interoception, which is the practice of listening to your body to train your nervous system and increase resilience.

Treeya Zukas has trained as a yoga teacher /therapist since 1994 with Integrative Yoga Therapy, Donna Farhi and Agama Yoga and Amrita Healing Center and has studied somatics with Thomas Hanna and Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen. Treeya is certified through the International Association of Yoga Therapists and was awarded the certificate for Reiki & Seichem Master/Teacher. Presently, studying Wellness Education Treeya has taught in Port Townsend, Sequim, Port Angeles, Thailand, and Mexico.
