“The Spiritual Life” Journaling Circle, 2019

6 meetings, once a month, referencing the book, The Spiritual Life, How to Live It Every Day, by Harold Klemp (owning or pre-reading the book is not necessary – topics and quotes will be provided).

Meeting at CoLab, 237 Taylor St, next to Rose Theatre - upstairs on 2nd floor.  Elevators available.  Please arrive early and allow time to park and find CoLab.

The first two classes are open for new participants.

  • Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019  3:30-5 pm.  Topic: “Balance and Harmony”
  • Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, 3:30-5 pm.  Topic: “Family Relationships”

Since journaling is a private activity, why would a journaler participate in a journaling circle?  Because tender, amazing, and empowering things can happen in the company of fellow spiritual travelers!  When the conditions fit…  In my experience, when the all those gathered hold individual spiritual truth as precious, a spiritual grace is activated that elevates both the individual and the group.  All spiritual backgrounds are, of course, welcomed.

At the first meeting in January, we will do journaling on site, with the topic and quotes listed for January, below.  Then those people who are so inclined, will share what they learned through their writing.  The subsequent meetings will be devoted to reading from our journal entries over the month or from written summaries, reflecting on the topic and quote for that period.  Excellent writing is not the point – Reflection is.  The inner voice rises through quiet introspection, and journaling is a wonderful way to cultivate it.  Never been a consistent journaler?  Maybe now is the time to give it another go.
