Hello rock stars and blues fans everywhere!
Chicago Bob’s "Gently Amplified" Blues Jam starts its fifth calendar year at the Road House this
Wednesday, January 9, from 6 to 9 pm.
It's a 21+ room with a full dinner and beverage menu.
This month again we have the full lineup of the Midnight Train Blues Band
to lead the jam, with Matt Miner on percussion, Glen Hellman on bass, Barb
“Lulu” Dawson on keyboards, and Chicago Bob on guitar & harmonica.
Vocalists are encouraged to sit in with the band on stage, and the plugged
in musicians are invited to take a chorus on any song we do. Anyone can
play along with any song.
Electric instruments will be set up around the dance floor, with room for
dancers, and acoustic instruments can play along in the dining area. The
“Gently Amplified” bit is achieved by simply pointing amps at the musicians
so they can hear themselves play without bouncing the sound off everyone
else first. Mandolins, fiddles, ukes and harmonicas can be plugged in or
not, and it’s mostly easy on the ears. 90% plus.
So please join us to listen, play, dance, eat and make merry. And laugh.
