Join us at the Finnriver Cidery for our "Live music on the Land" series.
On Saturday, January 12th we are pleased to host Chandra & the Homeschool Boys from 6-9 pm at our Cider Garden located on a historic farm in the Chimacum valley. It was a sad day for Port Angeles, not all that many years ago, when Abby Mae and the Homeschool Boys played their last show. One of Port Angeles’ most favorite bands, they combined the timeless tradition of old time music with Gaelic, Blues, and Gospel. Silly, sultry, spiritual, and heartbreaking, Abby Mae and the Homeschool Boys was one foot-stomping band. So it was with great excitement to learn that this great band has been resurrected with one of Port Angeles’ musical heroes, fiddler and vocalist Chandra Johnson. Already well-known as a member of San Francisco’s great Sam Chase Band and Port Angeles’ Crushwater, her newest initiative with the reformed Homeschool Boys is something you don’t want to miss. Musical synergy – taking two great musical entities and joining them together to create something even better than the sum of its parts!
Enjoy farm-crafted cider tastings, flights, draft pours and apple brandy cocktails at the tasting room and cider garden from 12-9 pm (tastings end at 5 pm). Plan your visit here.
We also offer a range of lovely food options on Saturdays, including locally-sourced picnic items and the following food vendors: - Finnriver house-made bratwurst from 12-8 pm - Dented Buoy Wood-fired Pizza from 12-8pm - La Crêpe de Quimper Crepes from 12-8pm - Hama Hama Seafood from 2-8pm (until sold out) Finnriver keeps our music events free and open to the public. To support the bands, we raise our draft pours by $1 during music events-- with added proceeds going to the musicians. Thanks for helping us celebrate the 'culture' in agriculture.
Our events are family-friendly. Please no smoking, no outside food or alcohol, and no dogs. We hope to see you here!
