David Bobanik, the Executive Director of Rotary First Harvest, will show us how they connect the system of food growth and production in Washington state to direct surplus food to hungry populations, and develop hunger relief solutions. Rotary First Harvest gathers 7.5-10 million pounds of produce annually from Washington food producers. The organization serves as a broker, securing food donations, arranging transportation and directing them to emergency food distributors throughout the state. Additionally, they ship surplus food to California and Arizona in exchange for surplus food in those states.
