Auditions for the Ludlow Village Players' spring production of No Crime Like the Present by Bill Gleason will be held Tuesday Nov 13 and Thursday Nov 15 at 5 - 8 pm at the Bay Club, 120 Spinnaker Place, in Port Ludlow.
No Crime Like the Present is a totally camp comedy with lots of zany characters of various adult ages. Best described as a 1940's Female Sam Spade meets a current day Television News Team. The female anchorwoman on KDOA's Six O'clock News was on her way to the top and willing to step on anyone's toes to get there. She made enough enemies to fill a phone book and someone had enough! YEP, she was iced and Mavis, private eye, is on the case. There are 6 female and 7 male roles inc. a trumpet player who plays and has lines and a drummer who plays and does NOT have lines. You can read an excerpt from the play on Dramatic Publishing Company and read the entire play on Google Books.
Audition packets which include an application, character/plot descriptions, and other audition materials, are available for pick up at the Bay Club. Bring the packet with you to auditions with application filled out. This one will be a lot of fun for all, if you like over-the-top comedy, you'll like this one.
Production dates are March 29-31 and April 5-7. Rehearsals begin 2nd week of January. For more information, contact Director Val 360-437-2861 or firstname.lastname@example.org
