Qi is the life force energy that circulates throughout the body, flowing in every tissue and organ, and actively stimulates physiological activities. Gong can be translated to mean work or practice. Qi Gong is the life force energy practice/exercise.
This series combines both moving and non-moving Qi Gong. The physical movements are for stimulating the meridians, and cultivating and harmonizing the Qi flow for the internal organs and the external muscles and joints. The non-moving Qi Gong consists holding poses for Qi Meditation. The stillness practice trains the brain and develops concentration. It can help to bring you back to your heart and gives you a sense of calmness and energized physical and mental being. A calm disposition is able to nurture Qi. When the Qi is in harmony, the body is fit and the emotions in balance. You will learn a set of Qi Gong sequences and Qi meditation techniques for physical, mental and emotional health and well-being.
About Xie Ling Welch
Xie Ling has taught Qi Gong for the last 18 years to students of all ages and all backgrounds. She studied Chinese medicine and Qi Gong with Professor Zhang Guangde at Beijing University of physical Education, Professor Ling Housheng and Qi Gong Master Li Junfeng and other Qi Gong masters.Through her practicing and teaching experiences, Xie Ling believes the holistic approach of Qi Gong can be a valuable contributor for health and wellness care.
