This 60 minute class has been lovingly created for those who live with anxiety or stress, and those who have ever experienced (or will ever experience) anxiety or stress— EVERYBODY!
The causes for stress and anxiety are varied and unique to you and your life. You probably have 101 ways in which you manage these often frustrating friends, and this class is simply another tool to add to your "Healing Toolbox". Each class will include Pranayama (breathing exercises); guided mediation; and a physical practice that, depending on the students needs, may be slow and grounding or fast paced and uplifting. This class will emphasize the spiritual characteristics of Yoga, not just the physical. We will practice with the "8 Limbs" of Yoga- Yamas (ethical standards), Niyamas (spiritual observances), Asana (physical postures), Pranayama, Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation), and Samadhi (transcendence), Yoga Nidra (yoga sleep). Essentially, you will use these 5,000 year old practices to step away from yourself and walk closer to your Self. Step by step, cleansing the foggy and scratched window we see our lives through, and eventually seeing things as they are- separated from the tangled web of our stories. Come to class to work with yourself, to relax, and to take a sigh of relief.
