The 4-piece band plays original western and euro-gypsy music in the swing tradition. It's an inventive quest that brings together a spellbinding range of musical history to reinvent the categories of swing jazz, pop and country, celebrating music of the '30s up to and including the '60s. It creates a space where virtuosity meets vibe, and leaves you with a sense of jubilance and nostalgia.
The band consists of Reubin Wier on rhythm guitar and vocals, Noah Gotfrit on upright bass, Eric Vanderbilt-Matthews on saxophone and clarinet, and Quinn taking the lead on guitar, violin, and vocals. The band has toured across Canada, the US and Europe, performing at major folk, jazz and gypsy jazz festivals and sold out shows. They've been nominated for 5 Canadian Folk Music Awards, 2 Western Canadian Music Awards, and in 2018 won an Independent Music Award for their 2nd album, Blue Verdun. Their 3rd album, "Tunes in a Hotel," will be available at the show along with the other two.
