The North Olympic Fruit Club meets the 1st Tuesday of each month to share ideas, teach grafting and exchange fruit wood.
Local growers gather to talk about growing and harvesting fruits that can be grown successfully in our area. Planting, pruning, care and feeding are important topics discussed regularly. Exchange of scion wood, grafting demonstrations, and many other important aspects of the backyard grower are discussed. Come join us! You don't have to join the club to attend the meeting, but the membership is only $20 per year.
November: New Local Farm Projects in Port Townsend
The North Olympic Fruit Club will host a presentation on a fascinating new farm project in Port Townsend. It is called Natembea and it's located on a 70 plus acre cooperative farm on the south edge of Port Townsend. A landowner has made the property available as an incubator for enterprising young farmers. The projects include the Heartwood Nursery, Sweet Seed Flower Farm, Hopscotch Farm and Cannery, Bowman Farms (meat goats), and others. Logan Fields and and Lacey Allred and perhaps others will present. Anyone interested in small farms in Port Townsend shouldn't miss this.
Everyone is welcome!
