Third Anniversary Blues Jam at the Road House - Wed, Nov 14, 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Hello rock stars and blues fans everywhere! Chicago Bob's "Gently Amplified" Blues Jam starts its third year at the Road House this Wednesday, November 14, from 6 to 9 pm. The Road House is at 1251 W. Sims Road between the two traffic circles coming into town on Highway 20. It's a 21+ room with a full dinner and beverage menu.
This month we will bring back the full lineup of the Midnight Train Blues Band to lead the jam, with Matt Miner on percussion, Glen Hellman on bass, Barb "Lulu" Dawson on keyboards, and Chicago Bob on guitar & harmonica. Vocalists are encouraged to sit in with the band on stage, and the plugged in musicians are invited to take a chorus on any song we do. Anyone can play along with any song.
Guests are welcome to come up and lead a few tunes, either singing or sitting in with their instruments. We've had a few horns, guitars of course, ukes, flutes, blues harps, any and all are welcome. We've also had dancers from the Olympic Peninsula Dance Community and they added to the cool mojo we're developing.
Electric instruments set up around the dance floor, with room for dancers, and acoustic instruments can play along in the dining area. The Midnight Train Blues Band leads most of the tunes and we encourage people to play along all night, or as much as they want.
Plus, the "Gently Amplified" part of the jam is working well, by simply aiming the amps at the player's own ears, so they hear themselves clearly without too much volume in the room.
The Road House has a full dinner and beverage menu, and we encourage participation.
