Honoring the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, Alignment-based yoga emphasizes safe, methodical progression of yoga postures with a great emphasis on precision, alignment and awareness. This class includes Tibetan Rites and Sun Salutations to heat the body in preparation for a practice that is progressive, building a stable foundation before attempting more demanding asanas (postures). Starting with standing postures and gradually moving into sitting and reclining yoga postures, forward extensions, inversions, twists, backbends and arm balances. With a regular practice; student will experience an increase in strength, flexibility, stamina, concentration and relaxation. You will learn to move with ease in your body while working within your limitations. Level 1.
