Introduction to Tibetan Buddhism and The Meditation of Nondual Mahamudra and Great Compassion. Prayers, Visualizations, Mantra recitation and Meditation
When: Sundays at 4pm - October 21st thru December 16th with a break for Thanksgiving.
The first session is 1.5 hr long to accommodate the introduction and overview, still allowing time for the practice itself. All other sessions are one hour only.
Where: Madrona MindBody Institute in the sitting room - 200 Battery Way, Bldg 310, Port Townsend - link to their posting: https://madronamindbody.com/new-events/intrototibetanbuddhismmeditation
Why: Ultimately to join together our hearts and minds in the generation of great compassion for this dear world of ours. Sometimes it takes awareness and mindfulness to muster compassion - this class will give us the opportunity to practice finding our compassion in the midst of the swirl of thoughts and emotions we are faced with, both from within and without.
Details: All humans are welcome (please contact me about small children as this would be a difficult session for active little beings). Dana is requested to cover the cost of the facility. The primary purpose of the weekly sessions is to practice together using a traditional prayer book (provided).
Brought to you by: Terri Luoto (me). I recently (June 1st) moved to PT from Portland, OR where I practiced and studied with my teachers since 1995. My aspiration is to form an on-going practice group with the focus of Loving Kindness and Compassion. Reference materials and explanation will be provide as part of the introduction as well as on-going. Attendance of the series is encouraged but you are always welcome. Please do let me know of your intentions to attend via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
