July 12
Carol Despeaux Fawcett & David Stallings

Carol Despeaux Fawcett earned her MFA degree from Goddard College. Her memoir and her poetry have won first place in the Pacific Northwest Writer's Contest and her current work-in-progress, a fantasy novel, was a finalist. Her poems have been finalists in the Writer's Digest Annual Poetry Competition, the Surrey International Writers' Conference, and Ars Poetica. She received a poetry grant from Return to Creativity. "The Dragon and The Dragonfly," is her first book of poetry. When she's not writing or running her health and wellness business, she enjoys petting the neighborhood dogs, waiting on her two cats, riding her motorcycle, and pretending she can play guitar.

David Stallings was born in the U.S. South, raised in Alaska and Colorado before settling in the Pacific Northwest. Once an academic geographer, he has long worked to promote public transportation in the Puget Sound area. His poems have appeared in several North American, U.K. and Swedish literary journals and anthologies, in Resurrection Bay (Evening Street Press), and in Risking Delight (forthcoming, Kelsay Press).
