Third annual Discovery Fall Ball and Silent Auction event at the McCurdy Pavilion at Fort Worden. Proceeds from the Fall Ball go to help make the connection of the Larry Scott portion of the Olympic Discovery Trail (ODT) in Port Townsend, over Eaglemount, and down to Discovery Bay.
Once complete the ODT will provide cyclist, trekkers, equestrians, families, and commuters, a fantastically gorgeous, safe, and low carbon footprint means of traversing Jefferson, and Clallam, counties. When complete, the trail will start from the Boat Haven in Port Townsend, up through Sequim, and Port Angeles, around Lake Crescent, and on up to the Coast at La Push.
This event is the child of FreddyPink, and the Peninsula Trails Coalition, (PTC) the volunteers responsible for assisting the Jefferson and Clallam County engineers with trail design, lobbying for state and federal grants, seeking out right-a-ways, easements, and the trail's maintenance. The PTC's volunteers give hours and hours of their time, cutting brush, blazing trails in search of alternative routes, and maintaining the trail, and those of us who use this great resource are reaping the benefits of their hard work.
SOOOOO.....PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, get on the bandwagon, with us, and help us in this great effort to make the connection of the Olymopic Discovery Trail, between Jefferson and Clallam Counties. The Discovery Fall Ball has grown in size every year to become one of the most "looked forward to events" on the Peninsula, and this year we are predicting between 800 and a 1000 guests will partake in the festivities. On top of the fabulous auction items, and Rock and Soul music performed by my crew, Jefferson Healthcare's own Executive Chef, Arran Stark will be catering the event. For those of you who are familiar with Arran's culinary prowess, you will be not be sorry with the menu. Arran's got a plan that includes local farm to table ingredients, locally produced beers, ciders, and wines. ITSGONNABE a BLAST!!!!!!
