Local Storytellers Prep for Tellabration
The Quimper Storytelling Guild gathers on monthly 3rd Sundays for Story Swap to foster the art and tradition of storytelling. Next gathering on Sunday October 15 from 2:30 to 4:30 pm at the Port Townsend Library Learning Center (1256 Lawrence St) will be in preparation for Jefferson County’s 1st annual "Tellabration By The Hearth" on Saturday night before Thanksgiving November 18th. Local concert to be held in Library's Carnegie Room, is in partnership with the National Storytelling Network and PT Library, and will coincide with hundreds of other community storytelling concerts throughout North America. Library staff and the guild look forward to establishing Tellabration by the Hearth as an annual anchor event at the library.
At this month’s Story Swap prospective tellers and stories for the Tellabration will be previewed and vetted. Up to 6 tellers will be selected for the Tellabration concert. Several guild participants have indicated interest in presenting, and other local storytellers are welcome to apply for selection. Advance notice of interest is requested prior to October 15th swap via QuimperStoryGuild@gmail.com, or 360.316,9600.
Launched in March 2017, the Quimper Story Guild is organized by locals to cultivate a growing community of storytelling enthusiasts. The Listeners, those new to this art form, as well as aspiring and seasoned tellers are all welcomed.
