Dr. Tim Lawrence, WSU extension, will talk about bees and bee keeping and the effects of pesticides and habitat loss and what the public in general can do to mitigate these challenges for both the honey bee and also native bee populations.
We meet once a month (usually on the second Saturday of the month).
We start at 9:30AM with about 5 minutes of anouncements. Then, we have a one-hour presentation/discussion about some aspect of beekeeping. Some meetings are just devoted to answering questions (and there always seem to be some).
In other words, these meetings are for talking and learning about bees. (Club business is discussed in a separate meeting.)
These meetings (and most workshops and classes) take place at the Jefferson County Library in Port Hadlock.
