The Port Ludlow Artists' League welcomes nationally recognized painter, pastel artist, and teacher Susan Ogilvie to their July 19 program meeting.
Ms. Ogilvie's artwork is a dynamic blend of exquisite color and compelling composition. She works both Plein Air and in the studio, but most of her art begins outdoors with her sketchbook where she explores shapes and values -- all ideas of how to express the sense of place. In the studio, she continues her artistic adventure by further developing her composition and exploring color relationships. She describes her process as "all about exploration and discovery. The process is about listening, letting go, learning something new, and enjoying the ride."
