About our partners:

The Maritime Discovery Initiative
Imagine a school day where students’ minds and senses are fully engaged, where subjects jump off the page in the context of the real world around them—learning to swim as part of kindergarten PE, watching math come alive through sail-making, studying salmon habitat restoration for science, or biology through growing an oyster. This is what is meant by place-based education, where the unique resources of our community are used systematically throughout a student’s academic career.

The North Olympic Salmon Coalition
The North Olympic Salmon Coalition works to promote robust wild salmon stocks for families, fishers, and local economies by furthering habitat restoration and education on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Port Townsend Marine Science Center
The Port Townsend Marine Science Center (PTMSC) is an educational and scientific organization devoted to understanding and conserving our marine and shoreline environment.

Puget Sound Express
Puget Sound Express is a family owned whale watching company based in Port Townsend that has been connecting residents and visitors with orcas and other whales in our region for more than three decades.

The YMCA of Jefferson County
The YMCA of Jefferson County provides community outreach and partners with various community organizations throughout Jefferson County to ensure total health of the community in spirit, mind, and body.

SR3 - Response - Rehabilitation - Research
A skilled team of veterinarians, biologists and non-profit experts working to advance the health and welfare of marine life in the pacific northwest through response, rehabilitation and research.

Local 2020 - Resilience of Heart Action Group
The goal of the Resiliency of Heart Action Group is to host events in the community where people can come together to learn and practice the kinds of skills that can help us connect more deeply to one another.
