2017 Juror: Susan Warner has over thirty years of management, arts administration, and museum education experience. Susan is currently the Executive Director at Vashon Center for the Arts.

Because of her extensive background, Susan is often asked to provide oversight and opinion within the glass art community.   She recently served as a judge for the once-a-decade "Young Glass" competition at Glasmuseet Ebeltoft in Denmark.

Her work has been honored by the City of Tacoma, with an Art at Work award (2003), and Antioch University's Horace Mann Award (2007, alumni category).

Prior to joining Vashon Center for the Arts, Susan was at Museum of Glass in Tacoma, where she had curatorial, education, and Hot Shop responsibilities, and served as the museum's major gifts officer. Warner was also responsible for overseeing the organization of major exhibitions that are designed to travel across the country. Warner was also Director of Education at the Seattle Children's Museum.  She also served as Curator of Education at the State Capital Museum in Olympia and as Assistant Curator, Curator of Decorative Arts at the Dayton Art Institute.

Her early career included extensive curatorial work in collection management and exhibition development.  In 1997, she received Washington State's Gold Apple Award for Excellence in Education and, in 1998; she accepted a Coming Up Taller award for her program, "The Experimental Gallery." Born in Geita, Tanzania, Warner received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Southampton University in England and a Master of Arts in Education from Antioch University in Seattle. In 2010 Warner attended the prestigious Museum Leadership Institute in Los Angeles (Getty Leadership institute).
