Pope Marine Buidling and City DockThe natural beauty and geography that make Port Townsend a unique place to live are the ones we need to protect in order to share it with our children. This is a both a working and retirement community and tourist destination, and so is tightly knit and very social. Because of a smaller population, many groups and organizations have sprouted and there is something going on for just about any interest.

You'll find a high number of remote employees, self-employed and small businesses in the area. Retirees here become involved in both paid employment and as volunteers. Families have wonderful parks and a number of educational options.

Average median home value is $432,177. The median price of homes currently listed in Port Townsend is $376,500 according to Zillow and some local agencies say up to $434,900. Only 20% of listed homes are under $260,000. There are very limited rental properties that average $1000-$1600+ per month. If you make less than $50,000/year, finding affordable housing is tough.

Do not go by zip code - 98368 does not reflect properties accurately (the zip code covers everything south to Discovery Bay at Highway 101 - which is over 13 miles away). Jefferson County's overall median resale price in 2018 is $378,700.

Jefferson County residents can recycle TVs, computer CPUs and monitors for FREE at Goodwill, Monday-Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m., located at 602 Howard St.

Making sure electronics like televisions do not end up in the garbage, in landfills and ultimately in the environment, is the one way to protect people from the serious health effects of toxic chemicals and heavy metals. If your old TV still works and is in good condition, someone else may be able to use it. There are several other ways to pass on electronic items for reuse:

- Contact charities or non-profits
- Sell or recycle your item
- Use an online website such as FreeCycle

Whatever you decide to do with your computer, it is recommended that you remove all information before recycling, donating, or selling it.
