| Old Dominion University, a Virginia public doctoral research
institution, is a national leader in technology mediated distance
learning since the mid-1980s.
In 1993 Old Dominion was asked by the Commonwealth of
Virginia to begin a satellite delivery program to offer higher
education degrees to students at a distance. This expansion was
to be called TELETECHNET. Today, the TELETECHNET distance

Virginia and at sites as far as Arizona, Washington state, and

The University is committed to providing quality student support
services to students at a distance and strives toward providing
services that are at least as good as the services provided to the
on-campus population.
Accreditation: Old Dominion University is accredited by the
Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges
and Schools to award bachelors, masters, education specialist,
and doctoral degrees. It is approved by the Higher Education
College Board for the State of Washington.
