ART FEST - Save the Date!
Have you ever stood in front of a painting and thought, "I wonder if I have a talent for painting?" Or, "What can I do for my community?" Great News - you can combine art and philanthropy at one up-coming event right here in Port Ludlow!
The Port Ludlow Artists' League is presenting, Art Fest 2017, on Saturday, April 29th at the Bay Club. This all-day event features morning and afternoon classes, and lunch along with a wine & cheese reception at the end of the day, all for $100. The funds raised from this event provide scholarships for graduating Chimacum High School students who are seeking higher education in the arts. Give a little and have a lot of fun in the process!
Each participant selects two classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, all taught by the League's very talented and professional artists. Classes are entry-level to give participants a taste of creativity and fun, taking home a finished piece of art from each class. The choice of classes includes: drawing with Marti Mathis; painting with acrylics taught by Steve Hammond; collage with Gail Larson and Jackie Van Noy; watercolor painting with Gary Griswold; jewelry making with Linda Henderson and Judy Danberg; encaustic print-making with Victoria Harrison; card-making with MaryLynn Laker; and art journaling with Annie Danberg. All supplies and materials are provided by the Artists' League and included in the fee.
The Port Ludlow Artists' League is committed to supporting art in our community, providing fun art-related programs and events, and providing scholarships to our local students. On the average, the League has provided scholarships for three students per year for the past 12 years and with the community's help, the League will make it to year 13!
